Narender Mehta was born on 29th September, 1965 at
Gurgaon, Haryana started his art journey from Govt. College of
Arts, Chandigarh (India) in the year 1985 when he joined B.F.A.
(Painting) under the guidance of famous artists Sh. Raj Jain, Sh.
Viren Tanwar & Sh. Braham Prakash.
Since then he participated in & was awarded by various
State & National Level Exhibitions worth mentioning include
Punjab Lalit Kala Academy, Chandigarh (86-90), The Creators,
Ambala (87-89), All India Exhibition of Art, Simla (88), Hotel
Mountview, Chandigarh (89), Kala Mela, New Delhi (91), 65th/66th
Annual All India Exhibition organized by AIFACS, New Delhi (95),
National Exhibition of Art organized by Lalit Kala Academy, New
Delhi (96), United Nations 50th Anniversary Commemoration in
India organized by Nehru Bal Samiti, New Delhi (96) & All India
Drawing Exhibition organized by AIFACS, New Delhi (96).
During his art journey he was invited by several
Institutes including Museum of Fine Arts Department, Punjab
University, Chandigarh, Anand Kala Kendra, Gurgaon, Nehru Yuva
Kendra & Rudset Institute for demonstration of Oil Painting &
Graphics.
He organized solo show of Drawings and Prints, at
Department of Fine Arts, Punjab University, Chandigarh in the
year 91. He also organized & participated in several group shows
prominent of them include North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala
(89, 95), Ajanta Art Gallery, New Delhi (96), AIFACS, New Delhi
(98) & Arpana Arts Gallery, New Delhi (99).
His bright art journey is earmarked by glorious
Artist's Camp attended at International Roerich Memorial
Trust Naggar, Kullu, H.P. (94), National Art Centre, Gurgaon
organised by North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala (94), N.A.C.,
Gurgaon for U.N.O. organised by Nehru Bal Samiti, New Delhi (95)
& Kurukshetra University (96).
His works are in important permanent collections of
Museum and Art Gallery, Chandigarh, Haryana Raj Bhawan,
Chandigarh, Haryana Tourism Department, North Zone Cultural
Centre, Patiala, Museum of Fine Arts, Punjab University,
Chandigarh, Indian Council for Child Welfare, Chandigarh,
International Roerich memorial trust, Naggar, Kullu (H.P.),
Anand Industries of Group, New Delhi, Kurukshetra University and
some other private collections in India and Abroad.
He is presently
working as secretary of Kshitij, An Art Society (www.kshitij.org)
engaged in organizing Art & Literature Exhibitions on National &
International Level from 1994.
